A Superbill is an itemized statement, used by healthcare providers in the United States which details services provided to a patient. It is the main data source for creation of a healthcare claim which will be submitted by the client to their insurance company for possible reimbursement.
Before a Superbill can be created, it is assumed that the client has been charged and has paid for your services. The Superbill will show what the client paid so the insurer can determine what the reimbursement will be.
If is also assumed that the clinician has configured their Clinician Practice Information settings page properly. Some of the information on this page will be included on the Superbill and the Insurance Provider is expecting to see it. The required fields are highlighted below:

Creating a Superbill
To create a Superbill go to the client's billing area as shown below:

Click on + Superbill

Select the sessions on the next page you wish to include on the Superbill by checking the boxes on the left as shown below:

Please note: The client balance on the far right column of the page above should be zero if the client has paid for their sessions.
Click the Create button and a preview of the Superbill will appear. Here is an example:

The client's information will be on the left and the clinician's information will be on the right.
The service dates, service description, session duration, CPT code and procedure code modifier (if used), number of units and service location and location code will be shown on each line. The amount the client paid for each session will also be shown (if applicable) with a total at the bottom of the client payment amount column.
You can print this to paper and give it to the client or you can choose to created a PDF version from the Print window and email it to the client or you can attach it to a TherapyMate Message and send it to the client via the Client Portal.
